I know I know, it’s a bit early for Canada Day.
I do have an awesome photo for Canada Day coming up ON the actual day though
I just wanted to write a blog thanking this country for the things that it has done for me.
Canada has welcomed me into its arms, treating me (most of the time) like an equal.
Canada has taught me that even though snow seems so magical the first time – it’s not so magical 14 years later when it’s snowing YET AGAIN for the 5th or 6th month straight…..remind me to tell you the story of the first time I saw snow.
Canada has taught me that life is not as constricted as the view I had when I was a youngster in a much smaller country. Life has endless possibilities – it’s just there for you to take advantage of…. you just need to make the first steps…
Canada took care of my husband until he was ready to be with me……and then instead of abandoning him to the wolves, it took care and provided for us both.
Canada taught me the difference between big country and big city living as compared to small town small country living. No I’m not saying one is better than the other – they’re just different…..and by being exposed to both, you are a more well rounded person and….geezam this is supposed to be short I’ll explain more another time!!
Canada has taught me that there is such a thing as a cold beach….and that you can still enjoy that cold beach.
Canada has taught me that just because I’m not in a warm country, it doesn’t mean I can’t interact with nature year-round (not that I do…).
Canada has taught me whole new concepts of beauty, strength, perseverance and love.
Canada, thank you – I may complain constantly, but you have given me new experiences to enjoy, new challenges to face and new situations to find myself in. My life would not be half as exciting without you.
Oh Canada, may you live long, may you prosper (trying not to steal from Spock) and may our relationship be everlasting and evergrowing.
